I led the ecological group Ecosoc, organising and overseeing the organisation of various events. Running the committee required careful management of committee finances, managing the volunteers, planning a schedule of events for the upcoming year and ensuring all events were appropriately risk assessed and advertised.

We had tens of events a month, which included but were not limited to the following:

– Habitat management days

– Mammal trapping

– Bat walks and workshops

– Moth monitoring

– Scientific surveys

– Litter picks

– Excursions

– Identification walks

– Nature walks

– Birdwatching trips

– Large fundraisers like Chill Out For Charity

– Large events like BioBlitz

– Social gatherings including pub quizzes and film nights
